22 primary land sites of LIT worth crores are under encroachment

The reply to the RTI appeal states that a total of 37, 752 square yards of LIT are under encroachment. Out of the total area encroached, around 29,000 square yards are under illegal slums. Apart from this, other buildings encroaching the land include Gurudwara, temples, parks, residential housings, dairy places and even a police station.
The LIT officials stated the preoccupancy of the police as the main reason of their failure to get the encroached land cleared.
