The Appellant filed an RTI application dated 29.07.2019 seeking information on following 02 points:-
- PM Narendra Modis detailed itinerary that is minute to minute program details from February 13, 2019, to February 20, 2019.
- Details about PM Narendra Modi meeting with Bear Grylls a renowned survival expert. Details must include the date of the meeting, place of meeting, time of meeting and money spent on this meeting and also the reason for this meeting.
The PIO /Under Secretary vide interim reply dated 28.08.2019 intimated that the matter is being processed by the office and reply /information will be sent as soon as possible.
Dissatisfied with the response received from the CPIO, the Appellant filed a First Appeal dated 05.09.2019. The FAA/Dy. Secretary vide order dated 04.10.2019 directed the CPIO, PMO to expedite furnishing the response within 25 working days
Feeling aggrieved over non compliance of the FAA’s order, the Appellant approached the Commission with the instant Second Appeal
Facts emerging in Course of Hearing:
The Appellant remained absent during the hearing despite prior intimation.
The Respondent represented by Shru Arun Kumar, SO and CAPIO, PMO and Shri Alok Kumar Gupta, ASO, PMO participated in the hearing through video conference. Shri Arun Kumar stated that vide letter dated 20.12.2019, a point wise response in compliance with the FAA’s directions was provided to the Appellant.
Decision:
Having heard the Respondent and on perusal of the available records, the Commission observes that an appropriate response in compliance with the FAA’s order has been provided to the Appellant albeit a slight delay for which the CPIO, PMO is cautioned. The Appellant was not present during the hearing to contest the reply given or to substantiate his claims further. Hence, no further intervention of the Commission is required in the instant Second Appeal which is disposed off accordingly.
