Results of the contest “Lacunae in the RTI Act, 2005” declared
1 Dec, 2012The results of the contest organised by the website http://www.rtifoundationofindia.com were announced in the late evening yesterday. Announcing the results, the President of the RTI foundation, Dr. Anuradha Verma welcomed the huge participation by the law students. She said that the contest was keen and the jury found it very difficult to choose one out of the many entries. She said that such enthusiasm amongst the students is a pointer to the great future for the RTI movement in the country.
The contest was organised by the rtifoundationofindia.com to spread awareness about the RTI Act, 2005 amongst the budding lawyers. It coincided with the anniversary of the website, launched on November 22 The provisions of this Act shall have effect notwithstanding anything inconsistent therewith contained in the Official Secrets Act, 1923 (19 of 1923), and any other law for the time being in force or in any instrument having effect by virtue of any law other than this Act. last year. The site is free and has been providing daily update for the past one year.
The winner of the contest would get a cash award of Rs. 5000/- (Rs. Five thousand only) which would be sent by cheque. Dr. Verma further informed that the winner’s cheque and the certificates of participation would be sent through the principal / dean of the college. The articles submitted by the winners would also be published on the site shortly.
