RTI Activist bags CNN-IBN's Citizen Journalist Award

An RTI activist from East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh Payi Gyadi has bagged the fourth edition of CNN-IBN Citizen Journalist Award-2012. He is also the Chairman of Sango Lamte Foundation, an NGO, was chosen for the award in the ‘Citizens against Corruption’ category.
An initiative of CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat in partnership with a mobile phone company, the current edition of ‘CJ Awards’ is to honour the anti-corruption crusaders who are fighting the system to create a corruption free India. The CJ Award adheres to a 2-tier selection process. In the first category, TV18 editorial board short-listed the nominees on the basis of their stories featured on its channels and/or on the CJ microsite. The winners in the category ‘Citizen against Corruption’ were then selected on the basis of a voting process on the CJ microsite.
