Information sought and background of the case:
The Appellant filed an RTI application dated 08.03.2023 seeking information on following points:-
“Please provide me the list of mercy petition received by the President secretariat from dtd 20 July. 2002 to 25 July 2007. Document may be given in .pdf, .doc format.”
The Dy. Secretary & CPIO, President Secretariat, New Delhi vide letter dated 03.04.2023 replied as under:-
"Related information regarding mercy petitions disposed of by the President is available on the website of President's Secretariat ie. rashtrapatisachivalaya gov.in. However, your RTI application is being transferred online to the Ministry of Home Affairs which is the nodal Ministry & custodian of the record in the matter."
Dissatisfied with the response received from the CPIO, the Appellant filed a First Appeal dated 04.04.2023. The FAA vide order dated 15.05.2023 upheld the reply of CPIO.
Aggrieved and dissatisfied, the Appellant approached the Commission with the instant Second Appeal.

The submissions of CPIO were heard.
Decision:
Upon the perusal of the records the CPIO has provided the information to the Appellant has been provided with the information which is available on record.
Keeping in the view of the case and the submissions made, the commission is of the view that an appropriate response as per the RTI Act, 2005 has been provided by the CPIO no further intervention of the commission is required in the instant matter. Hence, with the above observation, the second appeal stands disposed off.
