Officers at HUDA directed to reply to RTI applications within 15 days
14 Oct, 2012Numerous RTI applicants filed a complaint against the officers of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) as they had a tough time pursuing their RTI applications at the HUDA. The applicants approached the administrator of HUDA and informed him about the hardships they had to face for getting the desired information. The applicants said that officials were not giving correct answers despite multiple RTIs being filed by them. An applicant also alleged that he had visited the office several times to verify whether HUDA had received his application or not but no one even bothered to answer him. The administrator, in response to the complaint took a strong stand and directed the officials of the estate office, chief accounts, horticulture, town planning and engineering to reply to all Right to Information (RTI) applications within 15 days and with appropriate answers. He further elaborated that if any officer fails to fulfill his duty under the RTI Act or causes a deliberate delay while replying to the RTI applications he will be liable for a disciplinary action.
