FACTS:
1. Appellant sought information about steps taken to promote Boudh Circuit and World Heritage sites by the Central and State Governments along with certified copies of certified documents, number of sites which have been brought under Boudh Circuit and World Heritage, reasons and basis on which Nalanda University has been affiliated with such Circuit whereas Vikramsheela has been excluded. PIO provided the details of projects sanctioned under Buddhist Circuit Theme of Swadesh Darshan in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Decision :
2. The officer representing the respondent authority stated that the information sought by the appellant was furnished on 29.03.2017 and again on 17.05.2017 after filing of first appeal. The officer submitted that no proposal was received from State Government for Vikramasheela but since it is part of the Swadesh Darshan Theme introduced by Prime Minister, it will also be considered after receiving proposal form Patna Circle. Meanwhile, they had furnished details of sanctioned projects under Swadesh Darshan. She further submitted that information about World Heritage sites is not available with them as that pertains to Ministry of Culture.
3. The Commission directs the respondent authority to provide certified copies of documents related to sanctioning of the projects under Swadesh Darshan Theme such as orders, allocated fund reports etc. to the appellant, free of cost, within 10 days from date of receipt of this order. Disposed of.
