Complaint for alleged misconduct on the part of teachers

The Applicant sought information in respect of a complaint he had filed with the Director (Education), through which he had reported the alleged misconduct of certain teachers by name. He claimed that the said teachers were found to be involved in objectionable activities (i.e consumption of liquor, smoking) during the school hours and he has provided enough evidence (described as a video recording in CD) to prove his charges against the said school teachers and that he is willing to share the same with the authority competent to take action against the teachers.

The Appellant stated that his sole purpose in initiating the present proceeding is to bring those wrongdoers (teachers) to justice. Considering the seriousness of the charges leveled by the Appellant, the Commission recommended that the Secretary, Education, GNCTD should enquire into the matter immediately and take appropriate action under the service rules against the employee(s), if the charges against them are found to be true. The Commission also sought a detailed report in this regard may be submitted to the Appellant preferably under intimation to the Commission.
