The computation sheets of colleges fees to be displayed on website
20 Jan, 2013
The Supreme Court mandated Shikshan Shulka Samitee (SSS) of the Maharashtra government has agreed to display the computation sheets of colleges whose fees have been finalized by it on its website. The SSS decides the fees to be charged by professional courses and there was a demand to display the information in keeping with the provisions of the RTI Act.
Such a proa-active disclosure would help parents and students to know the rationale behind the calculation done by the SSS while approving fees for colleges offering various courses including the engineering and health science. Activist Vivek Velankar has called for proactive disclosure of the salary and non-salary expenditure of professional colleges that form the basis of fee structure.
