The reply to an application filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act has revealed that many government employees in the health department of Himachal Pradesh are deputed to their choice of station and are receiving their salaries from the station of their actual posting.
The reply provided by the Mandi zonal hospital Chief Medical Officer (CMO)states that 18 employees, which include doctors, nurses, clerks and others, have been put on deputation and are allowed to get their salaries from the place of actual posting. This is despite the fact that the department of personnel had issued orders after being directed by the High Court restricting such deputations. The order said that a bill of salary be attached that the official was actually working at the station he was posted at.
The information also revealed that a senior assistant was deputed at the Mandi zonal hospital the same day he joined at Ratti community health centre (CHC). The applicant has alleged that in order to protect the politically favoured employees, the hospital has provided incomplete information and has filed appeal and complaint with the appellate authority.
