Despite repeated reminders, Pune University fails to reply to RTI application
5 Apr, 2013An application was filed with the University of Pune under the Right to Information (RTI) Act seeking information about applications filed by the students for a re-evaluation of their first semester papers between March 2012 and August 2012 and change of marks in each case.
The public information officer sent a reply to the applicant stating that the application had been forwarded to the examination department and the information would be furnished as soon as the department responds. However, more than one and a half months later, the department is yet to respond to the RTI query despite repeated reminders being sent by the PIO to the department.
This is to be mentioned that Pune police is already investigating the alleged irregularities in the re-evaluation process which took place between March 2012 and August 2012. It is alleged that the clerks indulged in fraudulently increasing marks during process of data entry.
