Follow up of the murder of RTI Activist Satish Shetty
26 Sep, 2012In the case of the murder of Satish Shetty, a Pune based RTI Activist, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted lie detector tests on many witnesses (polygraph test) and one such test was done on a key eyewitness recently.
The test was conducted at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) at Belapur in Navi Mumbai. The newly-opened facility at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) at Belapur in Navi Mumbai has started conducting polygraph tests. The Documents and Cyber Forensics departments of the laboratory are currently operational but is not taking up cases in large number due to shortage of manpower. A chemical laboratory is yet to be set up at the place.
In the absence of a Mumbai-based CFSL, the cases in the past had to be sent either to the centre in Delhi or its branches in other States like Hyderabad for forensic analysis.
