O R D E R
RTI application
1. The appellant filed an RTI application with the PIO on 8.1.2013 seeking about any representational /special grants being given to some officers in the Indian Embassies abroad, guidelines for such grants, utilization for the purpose, action against misuse, etc. In all, information has been sought on 6 points. The PIO responded on 11.1.2013 on points 1,2,3 and 6 and on 8.3.2013 on point 5.
2. Not satisfied with the reply of the PIO on point 5, the appellant filed an appeal on 8.4.2013 with the first appellate authority (FAA). No reply of the FAA is available on the file. The appellant approached the Commission on 19.6.2013 in second appeal.
Hearing
3. The appellant did not participate in the hearing.
4. The respondent participated in the hearing personally and stated the appellant had, through his RTI application of 8.1.2013, sought information on 6 points concerning grants and their guidelines in context of the Indian embassies abroad. The respondent stated that information was provided on points 1,2,3,5 and 6, but information on point 4, due to nonavailability, was not provided.
5. The respondent stated that the information sought was provided by the CPIO on 11.1.2013 and 8.3.2013, but the letters were returned undelivered.
6. The respondent stated that the letters will be resent to the appellant, along with any information available on point 4.
Decision
7. Commission’s intervention is not required in the matter in the light of the assurance given by the respondent in para 6 above. The appeal is disposed of. Copy of the decision be given free of cost to both the parties.
