Vide RTI dt 20.12.12, appellant had sought information regarding list of applicants with their address, status of the case of Tej Singh Vs Union of India and the cost incurred till date.
2. CPIO MOD vide letter dt 9.1.13, informed appellant that the details of writ petition referred to by the appellant is not available in their Section and without additional details, it is not possible to provide information. Appellant was requested to send complete particulars so that the branch dealing with the subject case can be identified.
3. An appeal was filed on 20.3.13 with Director (CP), MOD, stating that vide his letter dt 8.2.13, additional details regarding the petition were sent but no response has been received.
DECISION
4. The Commission remands the case to Director (CP), MOD, New Delhi, with directions to respond to the first appeal within three weeks of receipt of this order, with a copy to the Commission
5. The Commission also takes an adverse view of the fact that officials of MOD did not attend the hearing in spite of notices sent to them. The appeal is disposed of.
