The appellant referred to particular files and sought the file notings including all correspondences held in those files. The Public Information Officer (PIO) refused to disclose the information under section 8(1)(c) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, there shall be no obligation to give any citizen, information, the disclosure of which would cause a breach of privilege of Parliament or the State Legislature; of the RTI Act. During the hearing, the respondent submitted that the entire records have been transferred to the Joint Parliamentary Committee of the Lok Sabha and hence the information is barred from disclosure under section 8(1)(c) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, there shall be no obligation to give any citizen, information, the disclosure of which would cause a breach of privilege of Parliament or the State Legislature; .
