RTI reveals heavy spending on BSP Headquarters
10 Sep, 2012Replying to an application under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, the Uttar Pradesh government has revealed that there has been high expenditure on the construction and renovation of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) state headquarters at 12, Mall Avenue during the tenure of the earlier Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
The data disclosed under the RTI shows that initially Rs 2.95 crore was sanctioned for renovation work in the building of BSP Headquarters but gradually the work requirement kept increasing taking the total expenditure to the tune of 18 crores. It has been reported that the BSP has not been paying any rent to the government for this property. Neither the earlier government nor the present one has fixed the rent of the property which is located in a high security zone.
