CBI wants to question Shiva in Jethwa murder case
21 Aug, 2013In an application to the Sessions Court, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has sought permission to question Shiva, the nephew of the BJP MP Dinu Solanki. Currently, Shiva and five others who were booked by the Ahmedabad Crime Branch for murdering Jethwa are lodged in Sabarmati Jail. Apart from Shiva, the police had also arrested police constable Bahadursinh Wadher of Junagadh district, Sanjay Chauhan, and Pachan Shiva. The CBI has sought their interrogation to properly investigate the case of shooting of Jethwa on July 20, 2010.
Earlier, the CBI had questioned the BJP MP from Junagadh Dinu Solanki in February, 2013. The CBI had taken over the investigations in October, 2012 and recorded statements of Jethwa's father Bhikabhai and also his widow. His father had blamed the Dinu Solanki for hatching a conspiracy to murder Jethwa following his filing of a public interest litigation in the Gujarat High Court against illegal mining in Gir forest.
